Things to Consider for Your Herb Garden:
- Sun; like most other plants herbs thrive in the sun, so try to plant them in an area that gets as much sunshine as possible during the day, the sun will make them grow faster and it will also improve the flavor, making them taste better.
- Soil; Your herb garden will grow best with slightly acidic soil that is well drained as well as loose and fertile, you can use garden soil but good quality potting soil is better.
- Water; the general rule for water is not too much and not too little, you can best judge this by looking at the soil, it should be moist but not too dry or wet, you can add a lot of water to ensure all the plants get enough but make sure the water can drain off as the roots can decay if they are left in very wet soil.

- Air circulation; it is important for the herbs to have as much fresh air as possible, so make sure not to plant them too close together, allow enough space for the air to circulate around them.
- Fertilizer; you can also use fertilizer by simply mixing it into the soil, the herbs will grow better with added nutrients.
- Weeds, if you notice any weeds growing in between your herbs simply remove them, and also be sure to remove the root of the weeds as well, this will prevent them from growing back.
- Bugs; because you will want to use the herbs for cooking avoid using pesticide, you can also spray the herbs with water to remove any bugs.
By having your own herb garden you will be able to enjoy the taste and aroma of freshly picked herbs anytime.
